Tainted Heart Candy

Bitterness grasps tightly
as love’s candy coated kisses
burn deeply within a delicate soul

tainted lies spew
from blistered lips
and maggot infested tongue

fragments of desire
scream silently as life’s
casket lowers into an
unmarked grave.

Decrepit Hearts

with tears of broken
promises & deceitful lies

love silently seeps
between forgotten cracks
of a shattered soul

poisonous words
like a dagger to the heart
annihilates self worth.

succulent, extreme thirst
never satisfying

Innocence with such beauty
coming from deep within

as I was walking along
the garden path, I came

upon a patch of red roses
their sweet fragrance filled the air

a glowing, healthy magenta flower
hope this brightens your day

a rose for you momma
I love you

The Living Lie

The melody that once plagued
my heart, mind & soul
cut me to the core,
the wound gaping open wide
blood poured profusely
from all sides

every word that was uttered
proved time & time again
the ignorant person you are
to begin with.
How can she digest every
bitter lie that was told?
she took your word as gold

never once did she doubt
the poison that spewed from your mouth
internal choking had begun
mind boggling to everyone

no longer a child,
now an adult, tired
of your shadowed figure
where ever she turns
someday soon it will end
she’ll call you on your crap
once again.

The Decision

Standing in the doorway between
the shadows & the light
do I go forward, take a chance
fight for everything that I’ve wanted

or stay in the shadows where I’ve
been my entire life?
Scared to leave the only place
I’ve ever known

all for what? Some happiness
a bit of contentment
what lies beyond this place in time
contemplating, nervously wondering

why give up all that I’ve ever known
just for a day perhaps a month
in the light.. Is it worth it
can I stick with it this time

what is going to be the reason
that causes me to fall
tired of hurting, yet scared of the unknown
was told you no longer belong

all I need to do is place one foot
in front of the other
how hard is that?

The decision was finally made
I walked out of the shadows
it feels like it’s a million years

I have bad days
when all I want to do is run
back to the shadows where I
had no fears..

But in reality the shadows
was the cause of all my tears.

some say I’m crazy, though it’s
not true, I did it out of love for you
no one else will understand
